The next screw up in humanity's evolution
Social media, don't you hate it. The scourge of the 21st century. The next screw up in humanity's evolution.
There is a lot of hate on social media. The reason being that many of us have always been antisocial. It's in our nature. It is not unique to social media. For who likes to live in crowds? In herds like roaming Wildebeest? There are a lot of horrible people out there. Beautiful and fake. As well as blind zombies plugged in 24/7.
This digital drug is ruining all our lives. One day you will die and never exist again. Yes, your memorial accounts will remain for eternity - but you lost years of your one and only life in the real world, only to spend them in the digital matrix with total strangers, if not just bots.
I'll tell you what to do to get your life back. Drag those social media app icons to the uninstall bin. Yes, do it now. This act will not only free up precious space on your phone, helping it run faster - but do the same to your brain!
Then go play with your family or real friends. Speak to them. To their faces. Look into their shiny, twinkling eyes. Not some glassy, smooth, reflective screen.
Read a book. Paint a picture. Write an article, or even better the story of your life. Not some angry comment on Twitter or Facebook. And don't go post your visual creations on Instagram or thoughts on Twitter. Because nobody cares! They will only give likes to get likes back. Or be a ghost follower. Or hate you. Yes, avoid the angry hive mind.
Go walk in the hills away from the omnipresent WiFi passing in waves through your body and brain. From glassy CCTV eyes, dark with no human pupil, watching you on every street (for now). For one day even the drones will follow your every footstep, disguised as insects.
